Blood ketone levels holding at 1.5 in hour 56 of water fast

(Michelle Letourneau) #1

Does anyone have an idea why my blood ketone levels will not rise above 1.5 this far into a fast?

How are you measuring?

(Michelle Letourneau) #3

Blood ketones using my keto mojo

(bulkbiker) #4

Ok how often are you measuring and what time of day?

(Michelle Letourneau) #5

Two to three times daily once in the am at about 9am, again in mid afternoon and finally about bed time. @MarkGossage

Sorry, wish I could answer that myself, but can’t. I’m 65+ hrs. in presently on a fast, and I will test when I get home to see what it reads. - But I tested last night just out of curiosity and it showed 1.8, and that was about (50 or so hrs in) Actually, I think the highest I’ve seen it was 2.5 a few weeks ago, and I believe that was also during a fast? Will have to check the date. … But can say when I have checked in the mornings, it’s been 1.0 to 1.6 or so.

Hmm ok I’m stumped… mine are usually up in the 4-6 range by the third day of fasting…

@MarkGossage thank you for trying, I gave up my fast and after my first meal my blood ketones immediately went up to 2.6.

Just checked mine a little while ago, and now at 2.7 and I’m at almost 74 hrs. into the fast. But again, this is the only time I see numbers this high. Not sure if I will only see them during a fast though?

Well you found the way to get them higher… just eat!
