Blood ketone level of 3.3mmol/L

(Drew) #1

Hello all, this 3.3mmol/L level is an hour after waking up. Admittedly, I’ve only been consuming like 12-14g in Net Carbs. Do I need to consume more Net Carbs? My fat and protein are pretty much right on target. Appreciate any help. TIA.

There’s no problem with that number.

That’s great!

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #4

Three mmol/dL is great. Don’t change a thing!

(Karen) #5

Very much like that level. Good job, well done

Doing good!

Everyone else said it but why is that bothering you?

It’s PERFECT unless you don’t feel good or something, and then THAT is the real problem.

I am running as high as 6.9 after 9 days water fast and delighted with that and the way I feel.

Go Guy GO.

Sorry for the late response. I appreciate everyone’s help. Being new to Keto I was under the impression that going above 3.0mmol/L was not a good thing. This is obviously incorrect. Thank you again.

Hello Herb,

Being new, I thought that being over 3.0mmol/L was not a good thing and that I was supposed to stay in the 1.6-3.0 range for the most part and that if I was a little over it was fine. I understood that first thing in the AM my numbers would be a little lower and when I saw 3.3, I knew my numbers would only rise from there. Knowing now that being above 3.0 is not a big deal, I am at ease. I appreciate your response and help

Thank you,

I wondered about this and asked, then did some research and found it to be no big deal.

My ketones have been 6-7 for about a week and over 4 for about 10 days on my 14-day fast ending today.

Watch your ELECTROLYTES, they are far more likely to go wrong and far more likely to cause you problems when you do deep ketosis and fasting.

I figured if the ketones got to 10.0 I would have a bowl of ice cream. (Joking)
