Black Soybeans - Keto?

(Steve) #1

Can you eat these black soybeans on the keto diet at 1 net carb per half cup?

I bought a tin and wrote two low carb keto re-fried beans and hummus recipes. The problems is, both recipes taste so good it’s like cheating. I think it actually tastes better then the real ‘high carb’ re-fried beans and hummus from the old days. I ate the hummus with my extra crispy keto crackers…wow! It has to be too good to be true that there is a place for black soybeans in the keto diet. If they are keto approved… I see chili, bean salads, soups, BBQ baked beans, burritos and dhalpuri roti skins.
Eating in moderation.

Some people eat them. If you don’t have any issues or overeat or get cravings, it’s probably not bad.

Personally, I’m not a big fan of soy or fiber, though I thought about using them for something…I just don’t know what (chili for me = no beans). I was thinking of soup, mainly. Otherwise, I’m not a big fan of beans. (And this comes from someone who ate brown rice and beans for decades. Maybe that’s why I can’t stand beans.)

From the carb standpoint their fine, most would stay away because it’s soy.
