Hello!

2 years ago I was over 300 lbs. Obese, Depressed, It wasn’t a great time to be me. I decided I needed a change in my life. I needed to get back in shape because I has 3 kids I really wanted to enjoy life with, not sit on the park bench, despising I didn’t have their energy.

Well, I decided to start walking the neighborhood. Boring! At least until I discovered I could listen to music while walking. That was a ton better. But then! Then I discovered podcasts. Every day, a different episode. No need to listen to the same old song over and over again. Something new, and fresh, daily.

Well, from the walking, and listening, and dictating notes taken from the podcasts to my phone… I started to make small changes in my routine. I started doing stuff different. I started to become a different person.

Long story short, I lost a 100 lbs. I did it the traditional low calorie plant powered super food way but lost it never the less.

The thing is, my wife also wanted to lose weight… but wasn’t interested in kale everyday to do it. Instead, she found this weird diet called keto.

She pitched the idea of a low carb, high fat diet. I laughed. Big mistake. Once I got out of the martial dog house, I took a close look. Wait a sec. The science kind of backs this up! Why isn’t this being talked about…?

… It was …

On podcasts.

That’s when I discovered 2 Keto Dudes.

I just want to say, I love the format. Love the hosts. You guys bring life to this subject. You guys helped me really dig deep into keto and now I can’t shut up about it.

I’m on my 6th week of keto. Still figuring it all out, but I’m all in. I’m 190 lbs at 6’2". 10 lbs past what I though was impossible. Truthfully … 60 lbs past what I thought was possible 2 years ago.

Looking to stick with keto while discovering more about it and myself… while binging on 2 Keto Dudes, Chewing on Fat, and Singing Praises.

Awesome results.
I agree podcasts are great for long walks.
Kudos to your wife for setting your feet on this path. I have lost the same 30-40 lbs. follow a large number of diets in the past, but I can eat this way the rest of my life. I started this WOE last Aug. I reached my goal weight a month ago.

How do you listen to the podcasts? I’m on an android phone if that matters

Download a podcast app.

I personally recommend beyondpod, but there are many good ones to choose from.
Podcast addict and podcast republic are popular free alternatives.

Most podcast apps will have the ability to search for a podcast and will likely find 2keto dudes.
Otherwise manually enter in the feed address http://pwop.com/feed.aspx?show=2ketodudes

Stitcher is my favorite, but I’m looking for an app with more NPR clips currently.

I have stitcher as well and enjoy it for the 2KD as well as other podcasts. I listen to a few npr podcasts through that but just downloaded the npr one app, haven’t checked it out yet.
I love most of the how stuff works podcast family as well.

I’m using Podcast Addict. Very happy with it.

For iOS users, I recommend Overcast.

@Hamenopi - Is Podcast Addict better / different for iOS than Podcasts?

(Justin Hamilton (Hamenopi)) #10

I can only talk for Android. I have an Galaxy S7. Listening to an ever growing queue right now at 1.5x speed.
It also does Radio Stations and MP3 lists.
It probably also does a lot more but that’s outside the scope of my knowledge. Just been a super excited user and supporter for almost 2 years now.

Honestly, while I love Apple, pretty much ANYTHING is better than their podcasts app. I personally use Downcast, but am checking out Overcast right now.

(cj higgins) #12

Heh heh, I see what you did there…

(David) #13

Podcast Republic is a good app.

I use iCatcher and I like it a lot.
