BG level for fat burn

#1

What is the optimal level to be above or below for optimal fat burning? I saw a chart but it was difficult to interpret. Thank you

BG = Blood glucose ?

Hard question to answer. It might not really even be an important question in the grand scheme of things.

Fat burning is a low insulin thing, not a low glucose thing.

There would be a relationship … as your insulin is likely low when your blood glucose is low. But depending on how deranged your metabolism is … pre-diabetes ? metabolic syndrome ? diabetes ? Fat adapted ? … the blood glucose that is “optimal” to burn fat could vary widely.

Your liver will make all the glucose you need … likely higher is some than others.

Why are you asking ?

I likely don’t know the difference between blood glucose and insulin. I have no health issues and take no medication. I’m trying to tweak my keto diet for optimal fat loss and mental clarity. Both goals are equal. I typically OMAD with a 60 to 100 hour fast, weekly. I want to take out the guesswork by gathering data from my new ketone/glucose meter. Any insight greatly appreciated.

Also, I read some of the archived posts and came away with the thought that what was going to be most important was to be under a normal BG or insulin level. But I couldn’t read the chart because the axis didn’t show to enough granularity…

Concentrate on ketone levels.
Get a ketomojo meter.
