At 19 hours fasted my BG was 5.2. At 36 hours it was 5.7 and now at 45 hours it’s 5.8. Can anyone shed some light on this please? I’m not diabetic to my knowledge or even pre. Haven’t had official blood work in about 15 months but all prior labs have never flagged as any concern. Ate dinner Saturday night as last meal. Sunday morning had coffee with cream and stevia then only water. 5.2 was mid afternoon Sunday. 5.7 was early this a.m. and 5.8 now mid afternoon. Today I’ve had vitamins this a.m. a green tea at 8 and then water. I did work 7 hours on my feet in a donut/coffee shop running. Could that affect BG? Thanks in advance for any insight.
BG going up going longer into fast
Stress response?
If your body is stressing due to the fast then cortisol levels will rise and lead to increased glucose.
Not sure if it is clinically relevant though, or just interesting.
Great effort to be 45 hours into a fast !
Update on BG. Now about 61.5 hours fasted. Up for 1.5 hours. Nothing to drink yet and just sitting on couch reading. BG is currently 5.2 so I’m happier with that. Will check again this evening. Off work today with a bit of running around to do but nothing stressful or exertional. Am curious if tomorrow it will spike again since I work and will be on my feet 7 to 3 running my butt off followed by three hours of driving making deliveries. Still keen to read anyone’s thoughts on this.
Just a quick update. This morning was 5.2 shortly after getting up at about 84 hours fasted. Just checked now at 95 hours and BG is 4.1. For those more knowledgeable than me on BG and stuff, does this mean I’m not insulin resistant? Thanks.
