Beta Glucans

#1

So I have been poking around and came across Beta Glucans. Specifically those derived from mushrooms, which are said to be low in starch and high in Beta Glucans.

“Nearly all scientific studies on medicinal mushrooms have been conducted using whole fruiting bodies. This is because they are much higher in beta glucans and other desired compounds than mycelium on grain.”

While I understand some of this article, much of it is above my pay grade: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3236515/

I was really just looking for carb content in mushrooms and got side tracked. It looks like mushrooms could be very helpful in many ways, but I still cannot figure out how many carbs would be in a serving of this: https://smile.amazon.com/SACRED-Mushroom-Extract-Powder-Supplement/dp/B01BK871DE?ref_=ast_sto_dp

Without further investigation, which I am not particularly interested in doing, β-glucans looks like just another water soluble polysaccharide.

7 Sacred Mushroom Extract Powder looks more like religion than nutrition. Probably harmless, unless it’s just a load of carbs. Other than the supposed 7 sacred mushrooms I don’t see any nutritional information. It’s probably doodly squat.
