Best blood glucose ranges for T2D or IR and links?

(Karen Parrott) #1

Hello, I get asked a lot for the best normal ranges for someone with IR and T2D. The ADA normal ranges appear to not protect one against avoidable disease. TIA

Above 6.1 mmol/l (130 mg/dl) and you are doing permanent damage to the insulin producing beta cells of your pancreas through glucotoxicity.

If you are not eating sugar and starch then you are making glucose on demand and your glucose should hover around your physiological minima. For me that’s 4.8-5.2.

Are there any recent scientific paper links I could send to my Lab and Lab MD friends? I know I’m asking a lot, but all my friends and co-workers are very show me the science. I can show them my glucose graphs and HA1c graphs all I want and they all remember the morbid obese me… sigh. TIA
