I’ve been reading a lot about exercising on this diet is not that effective… I want to take that extra push to by adding in belly fat exercises. Will this be a bust or will it speed up the process?
Belly fat exercise
Exercise is unnecessary to lose weight, but it’s not ineffective, especially in regards to health benefits outside of losing weight.
But trying to target specific areas of fat on the body via exercise is useless. You can tone muscles under fat deposits, but fat will come off wherever the body decides when it decides. No amount of crunches is going to target belly fat.
Exercise can help burn up glycogen stores. One of the 2ketodudes podcasts mentions that we have glycogen stores in our muscles too. Burning up glycogen stores can help us burn fat sooner than not exercising in my opinion. This would help to start burning the belly fat along with other body fat.
You can do planks or some other type of exercise to tone the abdominal muscles beneath the belly fat but that’s about it.
taught abdominal muscles can actually push your belly fat out a little bit. I would target big muscles in your body like your glutes putting on muscle there will help burn through your belly fat faster than any silly tummy for belly fat exercises would.
So I am able to gain glutes during this diet because that was my next target. however, I was afraid that it would be a waste of time doing so considering that I’m not consuming a lot of protein. Can I still build muscle ?
