Beerfest

So this weekend I am going to a beer/blues fest that I attend yearly. It’s really the only time I drink beer. 2 days of beer tasting with around 80 breweries there. I’ve been keto little over 2 months. I will be drinking beer, so please no judgement. My question is, because I will be consuming lots of carbs, what should I do with the rest of my diet for those 2days? Continue high fats? Lower fats? I’m going for some harm reduction here. Thanks.

In Australia I try to stick to two beers: Pure Blonde and Hahn Superdry they are both zero carb. Good luck and seriously enjoy your yearly beer fest :slight_smile:

High percentage of fat, as close to zero carb in your meals as you can get to help balance the beer carb. If you use it as an excuse to eat pretzels and the bun on the burger it could take longer to get back into ketosis.

If you eat some carbs along with the beer you will feel better, I know from experience. Partly, I think the carbs will help you retain some water and not feel as hungover. I always figure since I’ll be out of ketosis anyway it’s a good time to eat some fruit. I’m sure people will disagree with me here but this is just my two-cents. I would also load up on electrolytes/salt leading up to the beerfest. Have fun.
