Been Keto 4 Mo., Last Two Weeks Gained Weight, Shake Things-up?

Looking for some advice. Keto has been great for me, lost 15% of my body weight, feel great, sleeping great, tons of energy etc. With the exception of one week I’ve lost weight every week, still have about 25-30 lbs to lose.

The last two weeks however I’ve gained 2-3 lbs. Haven’t changed anything, eating the same macros that got me here 75/20/5. Total carbs 20 or under, average protein around 75g, and about 1,550 - 1,650 calories a day.

I don’t do any MTC oils/powders, bulletproof coffee etc. I get to my macros through diet. I eat 18/6, have done a couple 24/56 hour fasts.

No panicking yet, just KCKO but wondering if I need to shake things-up with a change or not. Thoughts?

What about doing another extended fast.That’s usually pretty effective at breaking through plateaus.

Hmmm, started a fast last night, not sure if I’ll be able to make it to Thursday but it’s worth a try!

@yahowfun - NW. Any suggestions on good keto friendly restaurants in Vegas would be greatly appreciated.

Regarding my fast, I’m about 38 hours in, shooting for 72, half way there!

Weight is a pretty meaningless number. Have you gained fat mass? Lean mass? Bone? Could you be retaining water? Depending on the answer you need to change something up, or not! IMO a couple pound flux is irrelevant.

Also, I believe that plateaus are normal and unavoidable for most people on keto. I would give it longer before thinking more about it.

@akirby83 - Agreed! I also believe that past low fat dieting, high carb diet, juice dieting etc. messes with ones metabolism as well and that’s got to have impact at some point.

I track measurements weekly and haven’t seen any changes there either over the past couple of weeks.

That said . . . I did step on the scale this a.m. and I’m down 4 lbs. Could just be from fasting for 30 something hours.
