Bad fall

(April) #1

So this is my very first post on any public board, but I felt I had to share. I started keto almost a month ago, so I’m definitely still a newbie. Last night I was carrying my little dog in the dark (should have turned on a light) when I tripped on my big dog who was stretched out on the floor asleep. In my attempt to not fall on the big dog or drop the little dog, I took the brunt of the fall on my left knee and left elbow. On a tile floor. I took an Advil and put an ice pack on my elbow, fully expecting to be in pain all night and barely able to walk in the morning.

I slept like a rock. No swelling or hobbling around this morning. The pups and I did our usual 2 mile walk this morning, and then I did 3 hours of hands and knees weeding in the flower beds. No pain.

I honestly don’t think if this fall had occurred a month ago I would have been okay. I would have spent the day propped on the sofa changing ice packs every two hours. I’m a believer. And no dogs were harmed in this story :slightly_smiling_face:

Sounds like the big dog should have some price to pay, though

I know what you mean! My inflammation level is so much lower on keto. I don’t know how I’d respond physically to a fall like that, and I don’t want to find out! But I have far less inflammatory pain. #nevergoingback

Well I am grateful you decided to. That’s a great testimony, and I am thankful for your new-found health!

Thanks for joining the forum @Aprilmay1983, and I look forward to many more contributions you’ll make here.

I think the terrible scare I gave her was punishment enough. The silver lining was both girls stayed as close to my husband’s side of the bed as possible.

Oh PLEASE come over to my house and do my flowers beds! Fifteen minutes of weeding is all I can stand, so I admire you greatly…

Just one of the reasons we bought an apartment…
