Back pain!

#1

Hi everyone!

New here, not new to keto

My lower back is KILLING ME!

Started at 306.6 lbs now at 259.9lbs

I have had kidney stones in the past and this is definitely muscle pain, not kidney. Feels great sitting or laying on my side, but walking and standing is horrible.

I carb cycled last weekend and the pain disappeared until yesterday (8 days later).

I am IF from 7pm-1pm.

Wake up at 4:45am, do 3 days of strength training, 3 days of HIIT/Cardio, 1 day rest. Go to work at 7am and at 1pm have lunch where I will break my fast with a premier protein drink. Off at 4pm where I will have a high fat meal. Dinner at 6pm, also high fat. Then fast until the following day.

I have been working on form, posture, etc.

I get anywhere from 15-25g of carbs, and 1500-1800 calories a day.

Any idea what in the world is going on?

Wow. Sounds like you are doing everything right. I know some people with much more experience and knowledge will have some ideas for you. In the meantime, celebrate the incredible progress you’ve already made! You got this!

You may want to see if you have any trigger points: areas of muscle where if you press on them, they are very tender. Firmly massaging the trigger points helps.

Are you using any artificial sweeteners? I initially lost weight on Medifast and experienced terrible back, hip and bone pain. After I stopped eating that food and stopped using liquid sucralose (I used quite a bit), I realized my pain starting subsiding. I have always read how “fake” sweeteners can cause inflammation but only half believed it. I have come to realize how bad it really was for my body. Between stopping use of that and starting the us collagen peptides, I’m virtually pain free. Just an idea.
