Asthma question for Ketovores / Carnivores

(Mihalis) #1

Hi, I was wondering how people here with asthma are going after changing their diet to either ketovore or carnivore. Have you noticed any improvement in your lung function, are you breathing any better and are you still taking your medication as often or if at all? Thanks.

Going keto seems to have helped my allergies to some degree, but there are years when they are still bad. I shudder to think what they’d be like if I were still a carb burner. Right now, my allergies are particularly bad, and I’ve got a persistent cough that occasionally turns into an asthma attack. I’ve been waiting since 2022 for allergy season to end.

Keep checking your breath meter and follow your asthma plan, whether you are keto or not.

Just as a side note, when my mother’s allergies were diagnosed in the 1970’s, a pollen count of 450 was considered extremely high. Today, pollen counts of 4500 are routine.
