I found this information very interesting. I’m putting this up as an FYI Please don’t get all political about it. If you think this might possibly right, DuckDuckGo is a good alternative search engine.
Article on Google censoring health related websites
Something similar has happened with Twitter. Even Shawn Baker’s account got taken down for a while (supposedly for showing a lion eating an animal).
After glancing through SelfHacked, I literally have no idea what most of their articles are about. They seem to be related to things you can take, but most of what they are describing, I’ve never heard of. (And, yes, please ignore ending sentences with a preposition.)
Reminds me of a line attributed to Churchill: “Sir, that is a slur, up with which I will not put!”
Sadly, it is just the direction this world is going Face Book is even worse ! Ever read the book 1984 ??? HIGHLY recommended.
Enjoy whatever freedoms this country has given you “now”. Because one day, they will all be gone.
Censorship is only the start of it.
“Google it” has been a mainstream term for a pretty long time now. I switched to DuckDuckGo years ago because they don’t track and privacy is still important to me. Articles like this make me glad I switched. I’ve been trying to normalize the term “DuckDuckGo it” but unfortunately it doesn’t roll of the tongue very easily.
Orwell’s other book is too relevant in our world today as well Animal Farm.
I have a first addition of 1984
Big Brother is our worst enemy.
I haven’t read Animal Farm, but I intend to soon.
Duckduckgo is my default search engine and Google has become my search engine of last resort after all other search engines have failed me. Google has excellent tech but their search quality has been declining for some time.
And a thumbs up for selfhacked, I’ve found plenty of helpful articles there and they are particularly good at supplying references. Sometimes the content of referenced material doesn’t well match the title and it doesn’t seem to well support the assertion but this is a ubiquitous issue as is the very low quality of published research especially that related to nutrition and health.
He was taken down by bots after being mass reported, which is pretty common. Once humans reviewed the action, it was reverted.
I’m neutral on Jimmy Moore, but this Big Tech/censorship/reporting stuff is really getting ridiculous. I think we should all be prepared (and willing) to start shelling out $1, $2, $3, etc. per month for high-quality content.
HA! That’s a good one.
I’ve written material where I made the sentence grammatically correct…and the people will take out the preposition and put it at the end. And a lot of times, it does seem reasonable (if it still freaks out the grammarians).
This just in on Twitter: Apparently Serfey Brin has connections to the vegan “meat” market:
You Tube is owned by Google.
Because the only amendment that matters is the 2nd one in our country today. UGH
This is just sad, I’m not a huge Jimmy fan, great content & guests, it is his voice I can’t stand.
Constitutional amendments only apply to the government. Google/YouTube is a private company and can allow or ban any speech they like.
Also, YouTube demonetized popular gun channels like Hickok45 almost two years ago, so, yay? Neither the first nor second amendments apply to that.
