Are polyphenols really that good for us?

#1

My husband watched some TV show which cited expert opinions about the benefits of polyphenols, and he says I should consider eating foods that contain them. Well, as far as I can tell, only plants contain polyphenols and I don’t eat plants.

What does the real science say about polyphenols?

Some evidence exists that polyphenols help prevent health dangers such as cancer, high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes.

Your diet already does this. Are there any other claims that might need actual science to back up?

That’s a very good point. Since I don’t eat crap, I don’t need the protection allegedly offered by polyphenols.

It’s amazing to me, the more diverse the diet gets, more the diverse it has to get to make up for how unwell it makes one… ha!

Polyphenols are in many wines, so yes they’re definitely great. :stuck_out_tongue:
