Anyone have any New Year's Resolutions re Keto?

#102

My mom used to bribe me with new My Little Ponys to get me to stop biting. LOL

Still a biter.

Here’s a well researched article on dairy:

Personally, I have not given up on dairy, though I also don’t eat a lot of it.

The one thing that keeps me from biting my nails is being pregnant but you don’t seem to have that option.

:slightly_smiling_face: More power to you, Gaff. Don’t bite them here but can’t stand them getting too long, i.e. really with any amount of white showing…

I have sort of anti-resolutions:

  1. No fasting (except for not eating breakfast until 9 which is a small fast of about 15 hours)
  2. No binging
  3. No overexercising to atone for a binge

Still eating keto. But the above items will help me feel more normal and not be focused on diet all the time.

NOT doing things is often harder than doing them.

(Doug) #108

Yes, as a matter of fact, and lord knows I need them. And in just a couple days gonna get to them…

“Listen to your body!”

As mentioned above, I resolved to quit chewing on the inside of my lips. So far this year (2.5 days) I’ve been catching myself doing it and am able to stop. So I’m developing a new habit of being aware and taking a moment to change course each time. It’s not a lifelong habit for me though–maybe a year or less. I wish you luck!

Habits that have to be broken are still just habits that have to be broken.

I chew my little finger tip and it drives my wife nutty.

I don’t really do resolutions but my goals are to just keep on keeping on with the health changes I have been making.

  1. Continue doing 20:4 IF daily.
  2. Continuing eating keto and get better at it.
  3. Continue researching and learning about ways to improve my health through the previous two and learning more ways to potentially increase lifespan but more importantly improve my healthspan including watching for free lectures and symposiums on eventbrite.
  4. Continue tracking my progress via MFP logging, blood results and DEXAscans.
  5. Get a good workout routine after my January bloodwork/DEXAscan done that includes not only cardio but also strength training.
  6. Work on a plan to start and keep up with extended fasting, starting with 3 day fasts once a month and working to do 7 days a few times per year.

Those are my goals for 2019.

My goals to a T. Used the ‘Holiday’ season to eat lots of keto sweets. I went from keto to dirty keto and now I am going back. Just as soon a i eat the last keto mousse in the fridge. So yeah starting tomorrow. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Is January over yet? :persevere:

I’ve been trying two meals a day (or skipping lunch) but it’s not really a resolution, just a way to save money. Thanks keto!
