Wow that’s crazy I can’t believe how many vegan/veg who went keto or carnivore! It’s inspiring, and reassuring after hearing everyone’s health benefits off vegan and into keto or carnivore. I am on day 8 now and all of a sudden I’m feeling so much better it’s hard to describe!
Any past vegans or vegetarians?
Congrats on de-brainwashing. Many people don’t do that until it’s too late. I got a couple friends that went veggie and one vegan for a couple years and they all now have health problems thanks to it. They’re all eating meat again now, but for them the damage has been done.
Yea luckily I stopped before I had any serious health issues, I’ve heard of a few losing their teeth from raw vegan
I am doing carnivore currently too, I’m two months in. There is a blog called MeatHeals.com where people share their stories of going carnivore. Many of them were vegan/vegetarian before switching so you might be interested.
I was vegetarian for over two years because my son wanted to be so thought it was easier if I joined him. I was relatively slim but started to put on weight, which I just put down to getting older. How wrong could I be. It was a clear sign of insulin resistance and a routine blood test at my doctor confirmed I have T2 diabetes with a very high A1c. I was devastated and went low carb then Keto straight away. My A1c dropped to the 30s in three months and my weight went back to normal. I eat meat, really enjoy it and will never go back to a high carb way of eating. I don’t feel guilty but even eating plant based natural carbs (not refined) just doesn’t seem to agree with me. I’m probably healthier than I’ve ever been if you don’t count T2.
This is the same for me, although I was only low fat/low salt. Even now, after 5+ years low carb/keto, I look at meat with fat on it and my mind tells me there’s too much fat. I add salt to my meat, and my mind says, “Wait? You’re adding SALT? Isn’t that deadly?”
I also find the fewer plants I eat, the better. But I still like some of them, fermented ones in particular.
Sounds like someone should make a documentary that shows how many bunnies and cute little field mice are maimed killed by the plow in wheat and soybean fields- even organic ones.
To say nothing of the migrant slave labor used to pick and ship vegetables year-round, or the way their obsession with “super foods” like quinoa and açaí wrecks local indigenous economies and diets. Veganism would probably be less well-supported if someone would burst their moral bubble and remind them that there is no such thing as a cruelty-free diet.
As I mentioned in my other post today:
I was vegan for 15 years and before this vegetarian.
Now I switch to carnivore.
Me ♀ THIRTY years! I had numerous GI problems, anxiety, depression, I was cranky all the time with mood swings. I got into a car accident in 2011 & added seafood back in & felt better. Thought I knew everything about “health foods”. Then in 2017 I was in yet another car accident & suffered another TBI. This was my third brain injury & I was t getting better. I researched TBI’s & stumbled upon Leanne Vogel’s podcast & have never looked back!! Vegetarian friends of mine don’t get it, but many have also converted. Now instead of talking about & sharing my experience with vegetarianism I’m all about preaching Keto life!!
You know it’s true though, a documentary about what your talking about would be quite interesting !
Was vegetarian for about 7 years, found KETO one year ago, switched to (mostly) carnivore 6 months ago. Bacon was my gateway food.
EDITED Hi Guys. Just a quick edit to let you know that I have talked to @Abirhassan and can vouch for her. There are more details about what she is doing on the survey form. I always think it is nice to help students out and have offered my time before to do so. If you have time, please help Abirhassan out. Thank you. Daisy x
