Another pondering thought on fasting

For those who are into either zero carb or omnivore types of eaters, would going to a plant based vegan diet for a short time be considered a “fast”? I just recently heard someone mention that idea but had never really considered it before.

No, I’m not thinking of going back to being a vegan. I just wondered whether a few days or a week here or there might even be a sort of “cleanse” worth doing.

Not everyone can, I’m aware of that. Wouldn’t suggest it for those who might actually become ill trying it.

Whatcha think?

I’m curious what cleanse aspect would there be by doing vegan for a few days versus just a water fast?

Fair question. I would guess there might be some things that could have a laxative effect as one possibility, clean things out. (?)

I don’t know, haven’t figured anything out. Don’t really even have an opinion yet. It was just something I heard.

When I look at websites that talk about cleansing, they seem to mention stuff I eat anyway, cruciferous veggies, asparagus, sauerkraut, greens, garlic, stuff like that.

I’m all for n=1 experiments so I’d love to hear how it goes if you decide to try it. From what I’ve experienced, a 4 day fast does a pretty good job of…cleansing.

I’m not opposed to veggies, and I’ve been eating more lately because my wife started keto. Prior to that, I’ve been mostly carnivore for a couple months and felt awesome.
