Another Egg head

I saw a post for an egg fast the other day a figured since I have been pretty steady in maintenance for a while it would be a good experiment to try.
I have been in maintenance and muscle building mode for about 9 months now after hitting my weight loss goal. As I put on muscle though, there are some areas i’d like a little smaller so that is why I did this.
For the last 9 months I have fluctuated from 196 to 198, pretty steady. I have gained muscle but obviously lost an equal weight in fat at the same time.
I am at the start of my 3rd day and deciding whether to try for 5 or just stick with 3 for now as many report that is sufficient. I love eggs so I figured this would be easy, it hasn’t been for me.

The first day was great, second day I felt a strong revulsion to eggs which is odd because I’ve never really had an aversion to food like that, especially after 1.5 days. I ended the day with a cream cheese omelette that was good enough to give me the hope to keep going. So many people that try this report only making it 3 days or so and talk about not wanting to do it again, I wonder if there is something deeper here, I have had pizza every meal for days and not got tired of it, and there is quite a bit of variety here so I am interested in why this happens.

As I mentioned my lowest was 196, which is also my lowest since ~1998, so I would say any drop below that without a lot of effort would be significant. This morning, after 2 days down, I am 194.5. My calories are not much different than usual so I attribute this to all of the non-CICO stuff and is motivation to keep going at least through today. The downside is that I have motivated the weight loss portion of my brain and now I want to get to 185, so I will have to keep testing things until I get there.

I’ve done 3 days of One meal a day eggs only as an experiment. When I say eggs only I mean just eggs, no cheese. Just eggs.
I love eggs. Actually every one of my meals has 3 eggs plus an extra yolk in it. But I can’t do eggs only for 5 straight days.
I don’t know the science behind it but I’m convinced that there’s something to it so much that I have decided to incorporate 2 days a week of eggs only.

I finished 3 days and i’m going to stop for now as I got some protein in and I want to do KetoChow for a few days. I will 100% be doing this again, doing my morning weigh in at what would be the start of the 4th day, I came in at 192. I hadn’t drank all week, but had a drink last night and I was craving protein so I had a tablespoon of peanut butter. I hadn’t eaten any cheese for the day yesterday so I figured the protein wasn’t to far outside macro town.

I’ll start my KetoChow stuff on Monday, today I will see how transitioning off goes and whether I gain anything back. Most people who say they gain back seem to say half a pound and I will be fine with that.

I’m the same way, I eat eggs almost every meal!

I did a 5-day egg fast a while ago. I was sick to death of eggs at the time. My major problem was no time to prepare ahead after Day 2, so I was sticking with scrambled eggs and other simple things. When I had time to put more effort into the recipes, I enjoyed it more. I tend to get tired of any one food pretty quickly. I tried the bacon experiment and failed miserably. I would like to do another egg fast and/or bacon/egg “fast” in the future.

So I said I stopped after 3 days. This morning I wasn’t hungry after BPC and left to run some errands, ended up getting a flat but luckily it was right by the dealership so I took it to get fixed. I had the wife and kids and an hour to kill and what was across the street? An all day breakfast restaurant. 2 Cheese omelettes and 2 bacons later it looks like I am doing at least 4 days.

I am kind of curious what the CICO loonies think is happening here. 4 pounds gone in 3 days eating 2,000 calories a day. This means I must be burning 6,666 calories a day through some magic. My only guess I that they would say water weight, but I don’t think there is any justification for that given how long I have been eating essentially the same macros.
