Annual Cookie Party at Work

Yesterday I surprised myself. The department at my company hosts a cookie party to celebrate the holidays. The managers all make homemade goodies, bring store-bought cakes and this year they had a sausage and cheese platter.

When I arrived with my vegan co-worker, we both just looked at the array of food. We each put together a plate of food. There weren’t any cheese or sausage, so I put cookies and Swedish fish on a plate. We got our non-edible gifts and walked back to our desks.

In our area, I offered the plate to a co-worker not in my department. I’d thought I could at least have the Swedish fish, and that was the one thing she asked for. I gave it to her and handed the plate to someone else not in my department.

I couldn’t have done that before, but thanks to Keto, it didn’t even bother me that I couldn’t have the fish.

My office managers just threw a spaghetti lunch for all 400 people in our complex. Thankfully the meatballs were in separate containers. I must have looked odd walking around with a plate of meatballs.

I guess it comes down to this. Did you feel better eating those, or did you care what people thought?

I don’t care what people think. I was just pleased that there was something that I could eat.
