Amazon sugar-free BBQ sauce and sugar free ketchup

(Karla Sykes) #1

There’s some really great sugar-free products on Amazon that are keto friendly or paleo friendly. Like the sugar free barbecue sauce and ketchup. I am thinking about purchasing one

I love the G Hughes and Guy’s sugar free BBQ sauces. I recently loaded up Heinz reduced sugar ketchup, when the 29-oz bottles were newly available at Target for $3.79.

I like Stubbs BBQ sauce the best but not available in a sugar free option. To me, the Hughes SF sauce is too sweet.

If you buy a different brand please post your review!

My personal favorite is Guy’s sugar free BBQ sauce…not just favorite sugar free, it’s probably the best sauce I’ve had period.

I found it at a local store that’s more of a specialty grocer, but like everything else, you can get it on Amazon. I’ve had the Smokey Garlic, Smokey Bacon and the Sweet Thunder and all of them have been really good. Another thing I really like is that I can read the ingredients without a chemistry degree.

We use Stubb’s for those times when it’s hard to eat more meat without something. For the amount we use, it’s ok.

What do you use ketchup for?

Two primary uses:

  • On my omelets every morning
  • When mixed with horseradish, it makes a great shrimp cocktail sauce

Same here. Don’t need to drench our BBQ in sauces anymore so a little bit of flavor goes a long way.

I like the last one. (I rarely eat breakfast, so don’t have too many omelets.)

For us, our ketchup usually goes bad before we use all of it. We end up throwing it away. When I was younger, I loved ketchup and ate it on everything. After going low fat and low sugar for a bunch of years, I don’t use it for anything except when recipes (like cocktail sauce) require it.

Love G Hughes BBQ sauce. No such thing as too sweet, as long as it uses Sucralose, it’s all good

G Hughes catchup is good too.

I mix the sugar free ketchup with our home made mayo to make thousand island dressing, which my wife regards as mandatory on burgers. Throw in some diced jalapenos and ordinary relish and it really is good.

To the OP, I prefer the G. Hughes sugar free ketchup to the Heinz, but Heinz isn’t too disgusting (isn’t that a ringing endorsement!) I’m with @Janie that the sugar free G. Hughes is too sweet. I’ve hardly ever used any barbecue sauce out of the bottle, and will doctor this with ACV, Worcestershire sauce, and some spices like granulated garlic.

I’ll have to give that a try. Since I was low fat for so long, I never tried any fatty dressings or mayo, but that sounds good.

I’m a big fan of the primal kitchen ketchup, as well as their steak sauce, not the bbq though.

Walmart also

It is for me - I don’t like very sweet BBQ sauces - would rather have tangy and spicy. Nothing against Surcalose - I don’t mind eating it.

That’s a good idea - I haven’t been able to finish the bottle I bought and it is taking up space in my fridge. I’ll try that.
