Note that the prices on Amazon for TJ’s are crazy expensive compared to the store itself. Makes Whole Foods look cheap… which is amusingly owned by amazon. In San Francisco, TJ’s is the price leader vs. Whole Foods and Safeway though there is a Costco for bulk purchases.

Aldi seems to be the price leader in the US and the UK and has good stuff for the basics and always something random in the middle aisles.

Funnily enough, Aldi and TJ’s are owned by 2 halves of what was the same German grocery company before 2 brothers spilt it up into Aldi north and south IIrC…

I am reducing my weight slowly myself. It is slowly but surely and I am also encouraged to continue because I love this way of eating and I have seen massive improvements in my bloods. For example my insulin has finally dipped into normal range. Times when the scale is stable seem to be regular for many people. Often the times when people drop kg or pounds like nothing else are posted but there are also many who are on this woe and things go a little slower with the number on the scale. It does not mean other things are not changing or we are not healthier for it.

I am reminded of someone saying:

" We do not need to lose weight to get health.
We need to get healthy to lose weight."

And guess what. Keto helps you get healthy.

Wow. I misread the price for the spice mix when I posted it. I thought it said $1.88. I blame my old eyes, lol. That is pretty crazy how inflated the price is!

It is a bunch of chancers buying retail and then marking up 300-600% and then hoping some sucker buys it. Amazon isn’t doing it per se but as the owner of Whole Foods, they can’t be unhappy at pushing the perception that TJ’s is expensive.

TJs has the best prices on butter, good eggs, HWC and frozen veggies in my area. And their pesto is phenomenal.

Trader Joes is over hyped IMO, people love that place and Aldi (same company) I think their both too small and don’t have a good selection. I only go to Whole Foods for certain things especially now that Walmart has stepped up its organic game so much but their prices are noticeably lower since Amazon took over. Still not cheap, but more doable than before.
