Always check the labels

(Ellen) #1

I was so happy this weekend as I managed to find some bacon, assumed it would be the same as at home, trace carbs, got it out of the freezer today and saw the label, WTF???

Reminder to always check the labels before you buy

#2

What are the ingredients?

(Wendy) #3

19 grams carbs? What is that stuff?!!!

#4

I see sugar listed on the picture but that should be negligible. Any other carb sources listed on the ingredients list?

(Ellen) #5

Full ingredients below, definitely a shock when I saw that carb listing, how can it be so high?

(Ellen) #6

No idea, not normal bacon that’s for sure.

(Wendy) #7

Well it must be that sugar and maybe something in the “flavoring” that’s listed. I’m sure you are disappointed. :slightly_frowning_face:

(Ellen) #8

Definitely disappointed, was looking forward to my first bacon in months, might throw it (and the other pack in freezer) where some of the feral dogs hang out.

(Full Metal KETO AF) #9

That just doesn’t seem possible, it would have to be candy coated to have that much sugar carbs in it. :cowboy_hat_face:

(Ellen) #10

IKR? Decided not worth it, almost 40g for the whole pack (who’d only have half???), am sure the dogs enjoyed it.

(Susan) #11

Happy Birthday Ellen!!!

(Ellen) #12

Thanks Susan.

(Full Metal KETO AF) #13

Ellen, Happy Birthday and where’s the
T-bone with a birthday candle? :cowboy_hat_face:

(Susan) #14

I see it but it is almost 2am here, I guess it doesn’t show for you until it is Tuesday for you =).

(Ellen) #15

You’ll see it when you get to Tuesday

(Ellen) #16

Susan, you’re a stop up! Go to bed!

(Susan) #17

I will soon, hehe =).

(Jason ) #18

That’s hard to fathom. Bacon that is 19% carb by weight? I can understand that they cured it with sugar, and have seen beef sticks with way too much carb added, but never to that extent. That’s crazy!

(Ellen) #19

I know! Erred on the side of caution though.

(Greg) #20

I hate this! I see this problem with Jerky products all the time. Why do they feel the need to add 7g+ per serving of sugar? Shouldn’t meat taste like meat???
