So I’ve been keto for 4 months now, I’ve lost 73 ibs so far. As a new commitment to myself starting January 1st I wanted to attempt alternate day fasting. My questions is, will this speed up weight loss? I know that’s not really all I should be focused on, and trust me it’s not. I’m just curious.

ADF is something many people successfully use for weight loss.
Don’t feel bad, it’s an easy mistake in such a big forum. I was just thinking of you getting the best help from people
It can’t hurt to try. I find that switching things up does pretty well also. A two day fast here, a few days of OMAD, a few days of 2MAD and a day of feasting (prior to fasting) is pretty good for controlling hunger hormones and breaking up patterns of constant caloric deficit (which could lead to metabolic slowdown)… at least for me.
Congrats! Those results are amazing!
Do you know if taking my regular sole’ and magnesium pills would kick me out of fasting?
Thank you My body has been doing something weird lately where I will lose 2 pounds a week but one week a month I will lose like 5-7 ibs. You’d think it would be after my period too, but it’s not. It’s usually during ovulation. Sorry for the tmi.
Think on it this way, your body needs unexpected change in order to mix things up. Routine is not in our nature.
I use ADF to help stay at my maintenance weight. I did longer fasting last summer (90-100 hrs) to break a stall and it worked well for me.
I have the same experience. My body needs to be shaken up every now and then. I fast 16:8 daily but we eat a big family Sunday breakfast, so Sunday shakes it up for me. I end up with the same number of calories but the timing is just different.
