Almond/Coconut Flour

Can almond and/or coconut flour be used as a thickening agent for Gumbo?

Almond flour is just almonds. Coconut flour is very absorbent and would probably work and there are gums that thicken also.

Try xanthan gum, but add it near the end at low temperature.

Glucomannan works too. I have a gravy recipe that uses it. Just be careful not to add too much. I mean that, add 1/4 tsp at a time unless you want chewy soup.
