All things coffee?

Couple questions on coffee…

How much and of what do you put in your BPC?

For none-BPC what is ok and what’s not?

Normally I put milk or half and half or cream in my coffee with a sweet n low. What’s the closest thing to that I can put in my coffee till I can wean to just BPC?

Thanks!

Bullet proof coffee is individual. Some recipes I’ve seen include butter and stevia, heavy cream and erythritol, heavy cream and butter no sweetener.

I use only butter and MCT oil. I like it BLACK

A very individual thing, Razzy. Some people do fine with adding stuff, others don’t. If you have no problems with an artificial sweetener, then what’s the worry?

I don’t think there is any pervsasive rhyme-and-reason to it; I’ll put cream in coffee but usually drink it black. Tea now - I have to have a little sweetener.

Would avoid milk, as it’s going to have more carbs than heavy cream. If I can’t get heavy cream, I’ll settle for half and half, but I try to use less.

When I make BPC, I just go with a Tbsp of Kerrygold and blend that in along with my HWC.

20 oz brewed coffee with spices
3 tbs HWC
1 tbs butter
1tbs mct oil
1 scoop (12 gm?) Collagen
1 piece (1/2 tsp?) 100 baking chocolate
whir blender. Addictive

16 oz of French press with a pinch of salt & 1 tbs coconut oil thoroughly stick blended in, twice a morning. :coffee:

I would go with heavy whipping cream for the milk and sadly the sweetener is kind of dependant on you. You’ll need to mess around with them to find one that works for you as they effect different people differently. A lot of people seem to use stevia or erythitol. Sucralose seems to go either way.

Someone may be interested in trying my substitute. I cannot drink coffee, so I substitute a cup of hot chai tea made very strong.

First, I make an infusion of spices that I keep in the fridge: 2 quarts water boiled with 2 or 3 sticks of cinnamon and 1 Tablespoon each: whole black peppercorn, whole allspice, whole cloves, cardamom seeds, star anise. Boiled until reduced by half, then strained into a quart jar. The whole house smells like heaven while it boils!

I heat up a bit (about 1/4 cup) in the microwave before pouring it into a large cup of strong black tea, add a splash of heavy cream and a couple drops of liquid stevia.

I love coffee of all kinds, but it gives me terrible indigestion. And now I am totally addicted to my morning tea.

@jeannieo, this sounds amazing! I need to try this. I’ve been loving my coffee, bulletproof or regular, for the past year and a half. Was just thinking this morning that I’m getting tired of coffee every morning, but plain tea just doesn’t do it for me. Thank you!

Zoolander inspired!

1 Tbl Coconut Oil
1 Tbl Cocoa Butter
1 Tbl HWC (heavy whipping cream)
Approx. 1.5 tsp Cocoa Powder
A few drops Orange Extract
A little Erythritol

BLEND!

Probably a silly question. But I see Heavy Whipping Cream written in recipes. Is this the same as Double Cream over here in the U.K.?

(Duncan Kerridge) #16

Yes it is Viv.

(Vivienne Clampitt) #17

Thank you Duncan, I rather like double cream in my coffee!. So good to know I don’t have to give it up.

(Steve) #18

1T Cocoa powder
1T Coconut Oil (or MCT)
3T HWC (you can find 0 carb brands)
1T Butter
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
2 C coffee
1 tsp Erythritol (until I found out this wasn’t agreeing with me) - now it’s without.

These days I normally just have 2T HWC in 2 cups of coffee and haven’t had a BPC in awhile. I’d rather have those extra calories in my meals than a mocha chino.

I’m very excited about trying this! I love chai but when I have used chai tea bags they are much too weak.

Glad your question was answered! It is the same. And look for “hwc” or “HWC.” They are abbreviations for the same.
