I’ve been eating keto since Oct 16, 2017, lost about 15% of my body weight and feeling great. Prior to going keto I’d drink once or twice a month on Saturdays and I’m not going to sugar coat it, I may have over indulged from time to time. No drinking during the week (or Sunday) unless I was entertaining for work and then it was a cocktail/glass of wine or two, but Saturday night could get my drink on from time to time.
Since going keto I drank on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day and years, each time in moderation. Well then last night came, over a 5 hour period I drank 4.5 oz of rye whiskey and a bottle of wine. Pre-keto this wouldn’t have been a big deal at all, honestly at the end of the 5 hours I would have barely had a buzz. Last night it hit me like a ton of bricks! Crazy.
I think it was a combination of keto, not drinking much over the past 3.5 months AND losing 15% of my body weight. No beuno! The good news this happened at home and it was just my wife and I. Now I know better.
The great news is it looks like I’ll be saving a lot of money on drinks when I go out LOL I figure 1 drink now packs the punch of 2 or 3 for me now.
