A1C Victory

#1

So I found this from one year ago when I visited my doctor. I had lost 20lbs but my A1C was up so she put me on invokana.

It took some hemming and hawing and months of listening to the dudes but I finally started keto in earnest on Sept 11 of this year.

Well, this week I had the best doctor’s appointment of my life, aside from the one after I stopped drinking and my liver healed but for a small bit of cirrhosis I can manage.
After 3 months of this awesome dietary hacking I’m down 45lbs, my blood pressure is stellar, and my A1C is 4.9. (i stopped taking invokana at the end of September) I nearly cried when she told me the number.

This way of eating (or not eating) is for life. I’ve never been so happy or healthy and it shows…in every sense of the phrase.

Thank you Dudes, and my best friend Sarah (and AA  ) for giving me the tools to live the best life possible. I promise do my part to give away what has been given to me so generously!!

Wow, Friday! :slightly_smiling_face:

What did your doctor think of that 4.9?

Excellent! 4.9 is impressive.

Wow, 45 lbs in 3 months is impressive along with the normalization of BP and your bang up A1 c number. Great results. KCKO

The 45g of carbs per meal is interesting.

That’s standard ‘enlightened’ ADA advice these days isn’t it? Almost low carb (but not). It’s about the best that mainstream diabetic advice can do… but it’s better than 300g!?

45g of carbs per meal is what my nutritionist told me after I was diagnosed. I told them they were high.
