It’s always interesting.

Case in point: an excellent question:
My answer: not much. I’ve reached the conclusion that it’s entirely useless.
Saw this posted on another forum and just finished read it. It was long but a good article. It basically stated exactly what the ketogenic doctors I follow have been saying for years. You’re right, that was a long but good read. All of the ketogenic doctors I follow have been saying this for years. When one actually looks at the studies themselves and not just the title and conclusion, they will see that there really never has been any evidence for that conclusion.
When I have been confronted by plant eaters, which has been rare, they ask for “proof” even though they can’t provide any for their stance. I just have to tell them “I am that proof and you can’t take that away from me.”
Sure it is a good read, but I am cutting down on subscriptions not increasing them this year.
Love Substack. I have about 100 that I read regularly, but I can only afford to support three of them at a time. Luckily most of them allow free reading and only occasionally an article is behind the paywall.
However this one they all are behind the paywall and I was bummed because I love Nina Teicholz. One of my three subscriptions I occasionally rotate, so I think I’ll stop that subscription and activate this one and read a bunch then cancel and read another. That’s how I get around the cost of Substack. Then I’m never paying for more than three. ($5-$7/mo each). It’s been very rewarding and worth it, and better than any newspaper or magazine I’ve ever read. Coffee & Covid by Jeff Childers (he’s a fantastic attorney,) is free to read and absolutely the best news roundup each morning, saving me from having to sludge through the corrupt MSM.
One of my favorite Substacks is A Midwestern Doctor. Literally the best and most informative medical advice for so many things. They really do their research and give exhaustive history and advice on a per condition basis. Many articles are free, but they are so good and imho just priceless so it’s the only one I pay for permanently. I want to support their work given its immense value.
The other two I can rotate with others as needed.
If anyone is interested in reading some of this Substack from Unsettled Science, that would be a good way to do it. Pay for a month and read to your heart’s content then cancel. Easy peasy and well worth the $5-7
They started that recently. They only send part of the article now. Bummer.
I haven’t tried substacks yet. I’ll look for A Midwestern Doctor.
