A new attitude

Yesterday had some time to kill between appointments so decided to do a little shopping (having the energy to do so is something new in itself) and spent an hour in a dept store looking at clothes. Tried on 11 tops and was a little unhappy with the dressing room mirror – it was completely honest! Found two winners and continued looking through the store at other stuff; I was at Steinmart so there was plenty to look at. But the victory I experienced was not getting discouraged at seeing my full-length reflection – have been feeling pretty sassy lately since going down a couple sizes but still have ~100 pounds to lose, so of course don’t look as great as I feel. However, instead of getting discouraged and disgusted with myself I was like “Well, still have a ways to go but I’m doing good.” Mind you, as recently as last June I would have become depressed and gone through a drive-thru restaurant and eaten a bunch of carbage as soon as I got home. Amazing how being keto actually helps one stay calm!

What a great thing to discover! I’m halfway to my goal & my bod has become super droopy lol, but instead of being dismayed I try to think of it as proof of the progress I’ve made, a badge for my efforts. I do hope this skin suit tightens up a bit with time & fasting, but if not, it’s a small price to pay. Hooray for Keeping Calm and Ketoing On
