7g net carbs over HELP
I do my nutritional tracking on a free website (online, not via an app) and FREAKED one day when it showed my net carbs as 80! I’ve been using this website’s nutritional tracker since 2008 and know it to be fairly reliable–and anything which is not accurate, I manually enter something which is accurate for my own use. I could not understand. I investigated and discovered cabbage. They have the correct data for cabbage, nutritionally speaking, but for some reason on cabbage, and only cabbage, it adds the fiber twice not subtracting it. Now I don’t worry until I have time to fix it. It doesn’t impact my overall progress.
I had a similar issue with MFP and pickles. Regular, dill hambugar sliced pickles. I had 5 of them and the option I selected put them at 12g carbs. You gotta watch those entries sometimes. I don’t know where anyone would fit 12g carbs into 5 slices of dill pickles.
I really prefer to prepare my own meals and scan the bar code of all the ingredients. It’s not fool proof, but there’s far less discrepancy.
My two cents: I have found over years of low carb and ketoing that nuts and various kinds of nut butters, in particular, are my achilles-heel. I could eat half a jar of organic peanut butter in one sitting and want more trying to tell myself that it’s keto! They are high in fat, but are very easy to eat too much of and cause a hefty insulin response which works against the WOE significantly. I have not found a way to consume nuts and nut butters in moderation. I will have macademia nuts, but it is, again, very very hard for me to have a reasonable amount whereas I do not over eat other high fat keto foods, which on the contrary, I only eat to satiation.
I think you may have counted the hotdogs wrong. I can’t imagine too many brands with that high of carbs unless you ate a whole pack. I could be wrong - just going from my background of hotdogs purchasing lol.
This was really helpful. Thank you
And thank you everyone else for all your information. I’ve started typing everything in manually or scanning the barcode using the Keto app which I’m definitely getting use to ^.^
