I’ve gone through the research, the reviews, and the real-world testing so you don’t have to. Here are the seven best keto bread picks worth putting in your cart — with the numbers that actually matter for staying in ketosis.

What to look for: net carbs under 5g per slice, no added sugar, high fiber content, and a glycemic index of 55 or lower. These four filters cut through 90% of the misleading “keto-friendly” labels in stores.

01. Bettergoods Keto Bread (Walmart)

Best overall

Net carbs: ~1g per slice · Soft, slightly springy texture

The standout pick of 2026. Soft, slightly sweet, and it toasts beautifully golden. At one of the lowest price points in this category, it delivers texture and flavor that rivals options costing twice as much. If you eat keto bread regularly, this one belongs in your weekly shop.

02. Hero Classic White Bread

Zero net carbs

Net carbs: 0g per slice · Cloud-like, firm density

Made with olive oil and offering zero net carbs per slice, Hero White is the go-to for strict keto followers who refuse to compromise. It delivers 7 grams of protein per slice before you even add a topping. The texture is soft and dense — genuinely feels like white bread.

03. Great Low Carb Bread Co. Sourdough

Best flavor

Net carbs: 1g per slice · Fluffy yet dense

If flavor is your priority, this sourdough delivers the real tangy experience without the carb cost. Each slice packs 7 grams of fiber and 7 grams of protein. Browns beautifully in a skillet with butter — arguably the best-tasting keto bread available right now for anyone who misses real sourdough.

04. Base Culture Original Bread

Grain-free & paleo

Net carbs: 4g per slice · Moist, dense texture

Made with eggs, flaxseed, and almond flour — no grains, no gluten, no compromise. Base Culture is the cleanest-ingredient option on this list and doubles as a paleo pick. The almond butter base keeps it moist and rich. Best eaten fresh or lightly warmed rather than toasted.

05. Mikey’s Grain-Free Bread

Best for sandwiches

Net carbs: 2g per slice · Widely available

Available at Walmart, Target, and Amazon, Mikey’s is the most accessible grain-free option on this list. At just 2g net carbs per slice, it works as a direct wheat bread substitute — particularly effective for cold sandwiches where structure and chew matter more than toasted crispiness.

06. Scotty’s Keto Bread Mix

Best bake-at-home

Net carbs: 2g per serving · Bake with or without yeast

For those who want complete control over what goes into their bread, Scotty’s mix is the answer. Add olive oil and yeast, bake, and you get a proper loaf with zero grams of sugar. It also works as pizza dough and dinner rolls — making it the most versatile pick on this list by a wide margin.

07. Carbonaut Seeded Bread

Best for texture lovers

Net carbs: 1g per slice · Sturdy, seeded crust

Carbonaut’s seeded loaf is firm, structured, and holds up properly under a butter knife — a genuine problem with many keto breads. The seed blend adds a satisfying bite and a depth of flavor that makes it stand out from softer options. Best toasted, and excellent with avocado or nut butter.

The only manufactured bread that I can buy is Carbonaut and I do choose the seeded variety but also the oatmeal on occasion. Love them!

I would also mention that a homemade bun that is pretty good is Diet Doctor bun recipe. It uses psyllium husk powder and that gives it really nice bread like texture.
