Howdy all.

So I’m on day 2 of my 60 Day water fast and feeling pretty optimistic. The last fast I did was 45 days and before that 20, So now I’m keen on going for 60 days!

Before I started my fast I was doing low carb (Under 80gms) which I started on March 6th and then on the last 4 days I lowered my Carbs to under 20gms.

I figured posting here would be good way to update my progress, get advice from people and share what’s going on. So please feel free to give advice, correct my insanity and hopefully put me on a better path if It looks like I’m heading in the wrong direction =)

So my starting weight was 238 lbs (I’m 5’3) On March 6th where I only had under 80gms carbs, it was more like 40-60gms though.
Then on March 10th I lowered my carbs to under 20gms and weighed in at 234 lbs

First day of fast, March 14th, I weighed in at 231.4 lbs
Today, day 2, I’m 229.4 lbs

I imagine most of this is water weight. I’m exercising as I usually do, My GP told me to keep aiming for 10,000 steps, though to rest if i’m feeling weak, I usually hit around 15,000 a day but we’ll see how I feel while fasting, as the last time I did this I had a few days off, where I slept most the day. I’ve also gone back to my weights as I was told that can help you hold on to more muscle (Please advise me if this is whoopie XD) I’m also doing a little yoga because it helps me chill out.

I’m aiming for at least 2.5ltrs of water per day, (Not sure if I should drink more at my height and weight). 2 table spoons of Himalayan pink salt. Magnesium citrate 927.64mg and gastrolite my GP gave me during the last fast to take every 3rd day. Which contains sodium Chloride 117mg, anhydrous citric acid 384mg, potassium chloride 186mg, anhydrous glucose 1.62g and sodium Bicarbonate 336mg. Which I’m really hoping doesn’t mess everything up, since it has the anhydrous glucose 1.62g… but I used it last time and I was fine, i just wasn’t doing such a long fast last time around, so that does concern me.

Anhydrous dextrose

  • is not your common table sugar. It is crystallized D-glucose compounds. It has no water molecule in its chemical structure and is a monosaccharide, a simpler sugar than the fructose cane sugar. This means that it is a dry sugar. It is also referred to as powdered dextrose.

+taking Chemistry AP in high school so thought you would want too check this out?

13.5 grams dextrose (same thing as anhydrous glucose.)

basically your taking straight up glucose but it in the long term helps re hydrate you and support homeostasis

Note im olny 15 and this is just some deep research I made today for you?

I would think the glucose would break the fast…personally I would not use it. I drink mineral water, take salt, mg, and cream of tartar for k on my fasts. Good luck. I’d like to do a 60 day fast as that would get me to goal weight. So far 22/23 days has been my longest. Thinking after Easter dinner a longer fast will be in order for me.

Oh wow! I never even thought about using cream of tartar, how much are you taking? Thanks for that handy info =D

I use about a 1/4 of a tsp per day. K is one of those things that if you overdo the consequences are severe so I am very conservative with supplementing it.
