6 weeks in ready to cheat. :(

My experience over the past several years of weight loss is that it’s critical to abandon an all or nothing mind set. If you allow yourself to go have coveted non plan food once during a three to four month period it’s not going to kill you as long as you don’t allow it to become a binge. If your mindset is "damn, I had some pizza and now everything is blown!’ and you use that as license to eat crap for the next two weeks, you are going to harm yourself and move further away from your goal. What we do is have a pizza night every four months. We never have that stuff in the house, but we go to a restaurant and either have a couple of slices of pizza or a plate of pasta. I don’t feel great the next couple of days, and it sets me back about two weeks in term of weight loss. But, as I wrote in another post, if I told myself I was never going to get to eat pizza again, I would likely rebel and throw in the towel. But don’t turn a ‘cheat meal’ into a cheat weekend or a cheat week for that matter! Only you will know if going out for pizza and limiting it to what you consume at the restaurant will lead on to completely falling off the wagon.
