My low calorie diet started in April 2018. I lost a good bit of weight but then switched to Keto on July 12th.
After 5 weeks of no loss, questioning keto science, hunting down hidden carbs, and tracking macros, I am finally making progress. I have been questioning whether or not I was fat adapted because I could not tell. I am making ketones and eating right, and still no clear indication of what happens next.
It’s not like an egg timer goes off and bam, your fat adapted. I know I am fat adapted now. It is not something you can test for and you never get a clear sign so it is very frustrating waiting for it to happen. The way I can tell is in how I feel. I have a lot more energy than normal. And by that I don’t mean I don’t get winded or tired when I check the mail. I mean I find myself restless sitting at my desk where I have always been able to sit for hours on end. When something needs to be done like laundry or cleaning the kitchen I no longer dread the task, I just get up and get it done and afterwards, I am not worn out, I feel great. The last 3 days have been like this so I hope I am not misinterpreting this feeling and I hope it never ends.
I have also begun to lose weight again, 3 lbs in 3 days. Its not all water weight because I lost that a long time ago since I have been dieting for almost 5 months but is a welcome change for sure. My measurements are changing too. I know it doesn’t help you, if you are stuck, just know you are not alone and it will eventually end.
