5 weeks in and plateaued

Hi guys,

I am a couple days shy of 5 weeks on keto and my weight loss has plateaued! Some days I’ll even go up by .5lbs. Is this normal? How can I kickstart the weight loss again? I have been capping at 20mg of net carbs per day, should I lower this?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated :blush:

Best advice is to keep calm & keto on - everybody stalls a little after the initial loss. If you do a search you’ll find loads of threads explaining that weight loss is not linear & a minor stalls aren’t really plateaus. If you keep your carbs at 20gms or below & don’t eat beyond satiety the scale should start moving again but if you only have a little to lose it may not be as dramatic as the initial loss.

Stalls are normal and expected. Focus on NSV (non scale victories) and pull out the tape measure; see how clothes are fitting, energy levels etc. If you KCKO the scale may not change, but the body shape often does.
