I think that’s a great start. Also make sure you are not using pufas as oil.
I think it will come it will just take longer for some but once you get going it will start just dropping off. My hubs didn’t lose much for the first 6 weeks. Then it just started to melt away.
I know what you mean, at first I was overwhelmed with information and calculations, but later I was pleasantly surprised at how simple at actually is.
By far the most important thing is to avoid: sugar, bread, rice and pasta.
Swap all the carbs for (good) vegetables and you’re simply left with: steak and veggies with a bit of butter on top. Wow, that simple. Or whatever meat/fish/chicken and salad with olive oil.
If you watched me eat you wouldn’t know I was on keto. People at work ask me how I lost all that weight. I just say “no carbs”. Otherwise keto food is normal food. Just very little sugar and wheat.
Alcohol is a carbohydrate and it can easily lead to more alcohol and more everything else … I know been there done that. Moderation, what’s that?
One of the most powerful things about keto is your appetite will change. And your taste will change. So the best thing is to press forward and make sure you’re under 20g carbs. Get in ketosis, your body will love you for it.
I use a blood analyser to make sure hidden carbs haven’t snuck in (again), they got me 3 times…
Glad you ditched the alcohol - even though zero carbs your liver will metabolize that first before breaking down your body fat for a supply of ketones and it will impede your weight loss.
Also search the forum for PISS (Post Induction Stall Syndrome) - very common after the initial whoosh of water weight loss. You will start losing again if you stick with this way of eating!
In the meantime, take measurements - sometimes you will lose inches even when the scale (the lying liar who lies) says you aren’t.
