4 Weeks In and loving it

(Casey) #1

Today marks my 4th week doing Keto. So far, this lifestyle change has been fairly easy for me since I was not a total carboholic to begin with. I was not the type to buy bread, cereal, or milk. Luckily, I did not experience the “keto flu”. The hardest thing for me to give up was the margaritas, beer, and/or wine.

So far I am roughly 10 lbs down and I have noticed so much more energy as I do not get the 2 pm crashes anymore.

Everyone I talk to about my diet at work still thinks I am crazy for loving FAT. It is just crazy how as a society it is so hard for us to get away from “fat is bad and makes you fat” to “fat is good and helps you” mentality.

I just want to say thank you to everyone who has supported me (and others like myself) with questions on this forum.

I still drink tequila, it’s keto friendly. I usually do shots with salt and lemon but I also make some awesome mixed drinks with tazo tea & sugar free Red Bull. :stuck_out_tongue:

That sounds delicious. I have only given up the alcohol for now so that I make sure that I can see the maximum weightloss impact. I will incorporate it more as my journey goes along when I don’t mind if my weightloss gets stalled for a little while.

Whoop! :raised_hands: Just a quick note to also say well done for all your accomplishments so far!! Thanks for sharing your progress.

Also, the ‘increased energy’ factor is something I’m still aiming, so it’s uplifting every single time I read that another forum member has achieved that with keto. All my fingers and toes and bacon slices are crossed.

Keep up the awesome determination and Keto-ing!

I really enjoy this way of eating. I’ve always just loved fat, especially fatty meats, and now instead of feeling guilty about it, I feel virtuous.

As for Margaritas, I’ve made my own ‘triple sec’. Steep some thin orange rind in vodka for a few weeks. And if you choose to, add some sweetener to it for your drink. Plus fresh lime juice. and ice.
