So, January 23rd was my 3 month Ketoversary. I had my blood work redone to commerate the occasion. In late September 2017, my A1c was 6.4. I was told I was prediabetic and I was put on metformin. I had been eating whole & clean. Lots of plant, lots of green smoothies, etc but things were obviously not working for me (cause there was minimal fat!!) In mid-October, I discovered the Keto lifestyle, the 2keto Dudes & this forum. I was intrigued. I decided to email my PCP to see what her two cents would be…but I was about a day into Keto before she wrote back. I was prepared for a battle with her but going to try Keto with or without her blessings. Needless to say I was astounded when she said she fully supported my choice to try Keto. She asked that I get my blood work redone in 3 months. (I don’t think my doc fully understands Keto but I’m just glad I have someone who willing to listen and I can reason with!)
In the past 3 months, lots of things have changed. Inflammation - gone, aches & pains I thought were associated with aging - gone, irregular sleep patterns (shift worker/911 Dispatcher) - gone - I can sleep 7+ hours at a time now but I don’t feel I need it. I’ve lost about 18 lbs, lots of inches, but the most significant thing is I’M NO LONGER PREDIABETIC! (And I’m off Metformin too!)
My boot camp group also asked me to become a coach! I’m going to certification at the end of February!
