3.2 Ketone reading on blood monitor

I’m not sure why, but that makes me happy!!

Haven’t tested in a while, but plan to tonight. I usually don’t get that high unless I’m on an EF.

Yea, that’s a fun number.

Blood ketone meter?
Because it’s a great number!

Thanks Brenda!! I guess I need to understand if a higher number means my body is doing better at running on fat as fuel. I suppose that’s what it means? But I’ve heard so much on it, and can’t seem to reference it now.

I am drinking that C8 MCT oil now (instead of the MCT from coconut oil) and Alvin Berger said the C8 is better for creating a higher ketone reading. something like that anyway…

IDK about the MCT’s affect, but I do know your blood ketone readings are good :slight_smile:Are you here to heal insulin resistance? Lose weight? Or other?

Thanks Brenda. Why would higher blood ketone readings be better than others? Just curious. I will research as well. My readings have been in the 1.7 to 1.9 range for the past few weeks. This week it was 3.2. The only thing I changed this week (besides more time on ketosis diet) is trying that C8 MCT oil.

I started keto eating because I want a sustainable, easy diet for health, disease prevention, and weight loss /maintenance.

Okay, found this and it clears it up for me.

Dr. Alvin Berger replied to my email about higher ketone reading and getting fat adapted. Sharing his response in case you are curious!!
