2 month status

(Ginny) #1

Today marks 2 months of keto for me. I have lost 8lbs and 15" thus far. I have just returned to weight training over the past few weeks since I figured out how to combat all the muscle fatigue and cramps I was getting by adding a supplement and more salt to my food.I meet my macros-staying between 10-15 carbs, sometimes lower, but never higher and I don’t do cheat meals. I was not really large to begin with because I have always been active, so what I really want to know is if this progression is normal or if I should start tweaking my diet or exercise routine yet. I don’t really know what the normal expected outcome for this WOE is.

Many people have gotten to finish weight and slowly modify to see what their body will tolerate without gaining weightor losing health gains. I think they stay pretty ketoish though.

Hi Ginny and welcome. The WOE is different for everyone because we are special snowflakes. So what to expect for you I couldn’t say. You are your own experiment. Your weight loss and inches lost is awesome. Keep it up. As we get nearer our goal weight, it becomes challenging. So questions, what is your goal weight. Have you tried intermittent fasting yet.
Best wishes

15"! Extraordinary. It sounds like you are on track burning fat and building muscle.

Thanks for sharing your progress.

Are you happy? do you feel better? Are your personal goals being met? N=1 its hard to say what is normal for instance I have lost 52#, only 5" and 10%BF. For me the journey started purely as weight loss, but within a month I felt so good the weight loss became a secondary item, and truth be told my weight is nearly static but now my fat % is dropping because I am so active and work out(adding muscle). As you become fat adapted if you have not already things will change even more.

I am about 10lbs from my goal weight and I have done IF from 8pm to 2pm on several occasions.

Which supplement did you start out of interest?

(Ginny) #8

I am happy and feel better. I love eating this way because I am not tired or easily aggravated because I’m starving. I was only wondering what a normal projected progress is. I am not losing a lot of “numerical weight”, so I just wanted to be sure I am doing this right. lol

KetoVitals high-dose electrolytes: contains Sodium, Calcium, Potassium, and Magnesium

Another example of “Big Keto” having its paws into everything to make money.

I’d save your money. Add extra salt to your food. Get some extra potassium from real food (spinach, avocado, beef…yes, beef). Maybe get a magnesium supplement.

Thanks for your input, but I already tried with just increasing veggies and adding salt and the muscle fatigue was awful. I feel much better on the supplement. I may switch brands or something eventually, but the replacement really helps me.

For me at least the time between when I was keto adapted and fat adapted was not perfect. I did not push myself when exercising as I ran out of energy quickly and fatigued. I never got cramps or felt horrible but I expired sooner than I did as a sugar addict and way less than I do now. If you are having issues getting the amount of fat you think you need to take in only eat to satiety that is your body’s mechanism to say you have enough. It took a full 6 weeks for me to be fat adapted and I was on the diet 2 months but had some setback early on(Christmas thanksgiving etc). Also keep in mind your body and your minds ideal weight are not the same thing, let your body drive for a while and get used to it.

Thank you Ginny. Sounds like we are in similar situations. I lost 8 pounds right away and lost inches for sure, but nothing since. I’m going steady around 10-15 carbs a day. Waiting for this fat adaptation I keep hearing about but not sure what that means. I love how I feel and I don’t want to stop but seriously, my breath!!! Someone help me w this horrid taste in my mouth!!!
