I use ruled me too so not sure why you are getting a higher figure for me… this is the outcome on ruled me
2 month newbie - need help with stomach fat & energy levels
I do read my labels. I know exactly what is in my food. The app just helps to track it on my phone which is always with me. If I tracked it on a spreadsheet I would never do it as I don’t have access to a computer all the time. MFP is what works for me.
Well I use a default of .8 for lean body mass, you really should stay in that range when beginning in my opinion, in fact I would say 1.0 for the first month is not a problem at all for most people.
I typically use moderate activity unless I know different.
I always use maintain.
I ran it again and came up with 132g fat and 79g protein set to light activity.
As for checking NAFLD you have normally would have a ultra sound done, being a male of that age I was having problems with the old clinker (BPH) not shutting off so they wanted to make sure nothing was going on with my bladder the tech said yep you have a fatty liver, I asked her how bad, her reactions was professional but maybe a little to honest and she said typical.
Ok thanks, not much different to what I’ve been doing then. I’ll adjust up slightly and see how that goes.
How long is a piece of string…
It’s hard to say exactly because it would change so much. I would go from eating “healthy” for ages to downing a family sized packet of chocolate every night for weeks (on top of take away for lunch and dinner!). Then I’d feel guilty with how bad I was eating so I’d be “healthy” again. What the typical Australian thinks is healthy btw, not keto healthy.
The numbers are guides, keep in mind you may need more or less, don’t be hungry ever. If you are hungry eat more, mostly fat.
People you age are suffering from NAFLD in big numbers, you have been more less raised on high fructose corn syrup and bad oils. I can at least remember when Mcdonalds french fries tasted good, and were almost keto, save the whole french fry part, but the oil was lard. If you were like me, I drank a lot of juice, and of course the years of soda, and then buns and bread. I ate paleo for about a 1.5 years that made matter much worse.
Do you have any advice on how to work out what it is?
Or give it a week with the new electrolyte regime and then tackle it?
Kind of just my other post above. Eliminate/reduce things you’ve added more recently in week increments to see what helps. And, the electrolytes of course. It could be any number of obscure things too which is why it’s hard to pin down but, it’s a reaction to something.
Ok thanks. Will see how I go with the electrolyte concoction for the next week and then start the process of elimination. So hope the electrolytes fixes it!
Oh and I had a look at my almond milk, it doesn’t have that ingredient in it (I’ll post the ingredients below).
This might he TMI so sorry if it is but I’ve gone to the toilet twice today. Mostly I’ve been going days without going so this is an improvement.
It’s doubtful but, it could be one of the ingredients or the almond milk itself. Everything’s in the list when trying to figure this stuff out.
I did just reread that this has been there since before keto through your body. Have you always had so little water? One symptom of dehydration is actually bloating. Constipation can be another. You were probably in the bathroom more as a result of the additional sodium and water. Which is a good thing. This might have been to solution so, fingers crossed.
Yeah. But worse. I would barely drink any water pre keto. I am MUCH better than I was but still don’t drink enough I know.
You’re going to definitely want to figure out a way to get more before something worse happens like kidney stones among other things. It doesn’t have to be unflavored water, you can drink it flavored.
It’s not that I don’t enjoy plain water, I just forget to drink it! Plus i don’t get any down time during my work day and I’m talking all day long so by the end of the day I’m like oops forgot to drink any water again today.
Normally I’d say drink to thirst, just like we say eat to satiety, but seeing how you are simply forgetting or too busy/distracted, what about setting an alarm on your phone at different times during the day to remind you?
I do this with my medication because I’m aweful about forgetting. It really has helped.
I would do it at least three times during the day and everytime it goes off, go get 20oz of water.
I’d recommend getting yourself checked out by your GP to rule out any issues with ovaries/uterine problems. In the UK at the moment there’s a bigger focus on getting women to go to their smear test or to check in with their doctor if they experience unusual bloating as it can indicate a change in the health of the woman’s reproductive system. If I were you I’d rule out any of these issues with a medical. I recently had unusublisting and had myself checked for peace of mind
A good idea but unfortunately it doesn’t work for me in my job. I work in a bank branch so can’t have my phone on me (and wouldn’t be able to have an alarm going off if I had my phone nearby anyway). I usually have a constant stream of customers and that’s why I can’t get to my water. My only real chance is lunch time (My only break) And before and after work. I drink as soon as I wake up in the morning. Plus at lunch I drink what I can but if I drink too much I feel sick. But yeah, from tomorrow I’m definitely going to make a conscious effort to drink 2L and see how I go!
