$2.69/# Beef cheeks at commercial Costco

(Jo O) #1

I know most of y’all don’t have a commercial Costco. But look what I just found there!

And I went back 2 days later.
None to be found.
So I’m guessing you have to time it perfectly with their receiving delivery.

I love beef cheeks.

What’s a commercial Costco?

Good score!

@ctviggen Looks like Lynwood WA. :cowboy_hat_face:

Bob, they’re Costco Business Centers. Over half the stuff they carry isn’t found at regular Costcos, and it’s aimed at other businesses - larger quantities, more focused on delivery. To a large extent, they remind me of a Restaurant Depot. Nothing more than a regular Costco membership is needed to shop there. As of last year, there were only 17 of them in the U.S., however.

Sadly, there is not Costco, or any other warehouse or discount stores even remotely close to me. Even in my Summer “home” there is no such stores close (by that I mean less than 100 mile round trip)

Bummer. It’s really hard to find beef cheeks. I had to ask my local farm for them. Otherwise, I have to order them online.

When I traveled to Finland, I ate in a French restaurant (yes, I know, why eat French, when you should eat Finnish? I was too tired and this was close to the hotel). I asked the waitress what to order, and she said the horse cheek stew. It was fantastic. I have tried to recreate it using beef cheeks. I got close, but not quite.
