Hello Leslyn, Daisy, I have just joined and may be misdirecting my question. Please direct if this is not the spot to ask… I have lymphedema for 2 years and some months … I have just listened to Dr Keith’s podcast on the Lymphedema LEARN organization… great info… To my surprise this showed up when I joined!.. My question that led me to sign up here is the salts question with the low salt directive for Lymphedema. I dont really understand how it might interact… Do you have an opinion around supplementing with beta-hydroxybutyrate for those who have Lymphedema? It is a Keto supplement that is emerging now. My natural diet is pretty keto -more of a modified one, high fiber carbs … when I do have them… and love vegetables am happy with the proportions of the low carb as I never had a sweet tooth… my Mom was very protein and veggie oriented ! So I swim and love it and my right leg still will swell if I am upright 5 to 6 hours in a stretch … had it for 2 yrs and few months and want to tweak my ability to regenerate my lymphs… and saw these supplements but they are described as salts … also a potassium perhaps it would help? By the way I drink quite a bit of Burdock root, Ginger root, Dandelion root, and Turmeric root tea every day… I think it helps the liver and general flushing of the system. Thank you…

Sorry it took so long to reply.
I don’t think exogenous ketones would help you much, no. Getting your keto nice and clean and strict will help you the most. If you feel like there might still be foods negatively impacting you it would be well worth doing an elimination diet - usually the easiest thing to do is basically go carnivore for a month and then test any suspects you may have. There are some common culprits which can hold up people with lipedema. Lymphedema I am less clued up on but would think it would also benefit with that. The healthier you can make your lymphatic system the better. Maybe invest in Leslyn Keith’s book as she is the lymphedema specialist?
