When I 14 day fast, I usually count down the days with an app and look at the hours fairly frequently.
During the last 14 day fast, I realized that I was obsessed with looking at the number of hours I had left to get to 14 days of fasting. I felt like an automaton with the continual looking and thinking about what I had to trudge through to get my time in, I suppose.
This time, I made a decision to NOT COUNT or look at the hours, days, or weeks, but to look at the sky, a book, my friend and family… ANYTHING BUT LOOKING/COUNTING THE TIME!
Counting the hours made the last prolonged fast a drudge.
Today, (not gonna count or look) I am enjoying the moment. This is making the biggest difference. I am stunned that something so simple as forgetting the time, and concentrating on the here, the NOW, could make fasting so enjoyable.
I set an alarm on my phone that will tell me when the 14 days are over. I have let the time go. I’m choosing the now.
**I don’t know much. I do know that the letting go of the time has made all the difference. I am at peace. I feel great. I don’t care how many hours “I’m into it”… **
As the Buffalo Springfield song title reads, “For What It’s Worth”.
I love all of you.

Love your attitude. Since turning 50 last year I’m trying to live my whole life like this. Enjoy the here and now. Live in the present.
Glad that it’s helping with your fast. You have inspired me to try a longer fast.

I find I had a similar response, I’m on day 22 now and going strong. I’m reading a book called " the power of now" it goes well with fasting because it is about being in the moment.

Building the fasting muscle is fun and a challenge. Fasted 20 days out of 30 in June.
What a great way to live.
