I’m fairly new to this myself… 10 weeks in. But I’ll pass along what has helped me. There is a website to help calculate your macros - https://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/ . I also use the Chronometer app… it’s a website and an app that has a free version. You can program in your own macros, you don’t have to use the preset ones if you don’t want to. I love it ! ( https://cronometer.com/ )
https://www.ruled.me/keto-recipes/ and https://www.ketoconnect.net/recipes/ are great resources, too !
There are also Facebook groups out there, too … but some of them aren’t as beginner-friendly as they could be, if you catch my drift. I like Kinda Keto, I’m a member of several, including that one. Hope this helps !

P.S. - I’m sorry for your loss. I get so excited sharing keto with people, I get carried away sometimes…

Try not to focus on calories. Just keep your daily carb intake to 20 grams or less, eat the level of protein you need to maintain muscle mass, and eat fat to satiety.

The keto calculator @Razorbackketo was kind enough to link to, will help you with the amount of protein you need, but even that number is a general guide. When you’re ready, you can self experiment to see what works best for you.

The goal, beyond reaching a state of ketosis, is to become fat adapted. Once you reach that point, your body will just as happily use stored fat for energy as the fat you eat. Then you’ll likely find yourself eating less and without hunger.
