I am so happy to hear that you and your husband are doing great! You are 100% right, we should eat what our grandparents and great grandparents ate! I wish you the best and thank you!
Zero appetite..help!
Keto and training is very different than Keto for less active people. Not that people here are not well intentioned, but you’re better off with people who have experience. You’ll find it on the Keto subforum on bodybuilding.com. I was on that board for years while I was training heavy, and the protocols enabled me to lose my excess fat.
The metabolics are different, as the goal is to lose fat while preserving muscle mass. The methodology is heretical to people who follow normal Keto dogma.
Keto lifestyle is not a religion although some people seem to make it so
I feel saved because of my choice to embrace this woe. Kinda sounds like religion no?
Evangelical keto makes people think you’re a OC nutcase! I know that people who don’t want the message think of us as a cult more than a religion. But yes, saved my life too!
This is exactly why I keep it to myself for the most part. I help people if they ask but I’m not militant about it like I was in the beginning. Once I backed off that’s when others really started to approach me.
Ditto…In my situation if I try too hard to get my fellow dietitians to even listen to what I am saying and the results I get from my patients, I get threats. I refuse to give my patients terrible advice ever again but I have to be careful. It’s so unfortunate but know I am trying to fight the good fight so no one has to continue battling weight or chronic conditions with advice that quite frankly does not work. If anything makes things worse.
Eat something healthy anyway! I used to lift weights and exercised excessively. Also into speed walking. Walked home from work 3 miles, grabbed the dog and went back out for two more miles before dinner. I actually started lifting just to gain weight because I couldn’t keep my weight above 100 lbs. No appetite at all. So my trainer told me that I had to eat big protein and lots of veggies, start gaining weight or I couldn’t use her studio anymore. So I cut back on the extra two miles, added more meat, and got my weight back up to 106. If you don’t want to eat, try adding salsa. It helped me choke down eggs, chicken, and beef. Good luck!
Amen to that, Brother. I went through that phase as well. It’s not necessarily bad in the beginning. It’s after derangement is dealt with, and weight is lost that things become more relaxed and metabolic health becomes the focus.
