I use to get more takeout food before making the switch to real food & keto. Today I got the Black&Blu salad with a blackened chicken breast & blue cheese dressing. Forgot to ask them to hold the fried onions so after picking most off I probably got a few extra carbs snuck in there. Anyway they put a slice of buttered texas toast on the top and I always would eat it and the one on my wifes salad too. Today I just put it aside and never gave it another thought. I think I am cured!
Zaxby's then and now
Good on you, Scott!
The last time I ate McDonalds (yeah, yeah… it was a cheat, lol) I was like “this sh%t doesn’t even taste good.” Keto will spoil you with delicious, real food!! Texas toast no longer necessary to hit-the-spot!
On occasion when the grandkids visit I will take them to McDonalds or Burger King. As many times the past year and a half we have done this, they still do a double take, look at me in shock, and say, “you cant eat here too! What about diabetes?”.
Gave me a warm fuzzy the first few times. But I started to catch on. They’re just trying to hype up some drama . They always do it in such a way as that everyone nearby gets to hear it wheather they want to or not.
So I play along. I usually order something like two double quarter pounders. Just leave the bun behind. Its tasty enough, but not so much I’ll make a daliy habit of it . Then I’ll make statements about how eating this way cured my diabetes, while you two girls sit there and eat your diabetes inducing foods:speak_no_evil:.
My point being I can make nearly any take out place a keto place. Most recently the wife wanted Charlie’s sandwich shop. She got a medium sized sub and fries on a regular bun. I got the same type of sandich, with the works, sans bread and fries, just dump it all in a boat like a salad. The wife’s eyes bugged out and she saw I eaily had three times the food she had! My guess the sandwich maker gets a little carried away with ingredients when there isnt a bun to scale it to.
