"You're going to DIE eating like this!" -from a stranger!

Hi, everyone. A weird thing happened last night and I wrote about it in my blog. It turned into a bit of a success story, with a couple of links to the Dudes’ podcast. I thought it might be of some encouragement to others, and I was curious as to whether anyone else has had a similar experience. Moderators, if it’s not cool to post a blog (it’s not monetized and I’m selling nothing) post, but the text is interesting, feel free to copy/paste the post instead.

If it were me and a stranger I would say:

“…I would be more worried about how much sugar is in the food I’m eating not the fat…”

“”…the amount of sugar you eat will be the ultimate cause of heart attacks and cardiac arrests not fat…”

Somfen like that!

Like a Labrador, one should aim to die eating.

If you’re still reading, you’re either very polite, care about me, are a Keto person, or have not much else to do at the moment.

This makes me think of the Fat people at work and No one wants to hear about it threads.

This interesting human compulsion to give nutrition advice mixed with the Dunning Kruger effect

A response of “You might be right” ends it right there, though I would be inclined to say nothing.

Congratulations on your progress!

KCKO! :sunglasses::+1::partying_face:

This is unbelievable. Just out of curiosity, can I ask what you were eating? I’m sure it’s the kind of meal that all of us here wouldn’t raise an eyebrow over.

And to quote Eminen, maybe add, “now fuck you; have a nice day.”

:joy:

I;ve seen that like this, also:

I like this one, as it pretty much is dead on for everything I’ve done in my life.

@Robin_Frisella I really enjoyed reading your blog post! KCKO and never mind the poor souls who don’t know what they’re missing!

But goodness me, how rude of a stranger to comment! I love how the server had your back!

Burrito Bowl: beef, chicken, carnitas, cheese, Guac, sour cream. Per the nutritional info, about 11-12 carbs for my only meal of the day.

Are you kidding?! That’s it? That is a standard restaurant meal! I don’t think there is that much fat in a burrito bowl.

We had people over and had a taco bar set up. The matriarch of one of the families said it was good to eat at our place, as they never eat sour cream or guacamole. She didn’t say why, but I suspect due to the fat. I of course had two large bowls, filled with a lot of sour cream and meat (I’m not a fan of avocados). No grains, some salsa, onions, jalapenos, tomatoes, though. No cheese either (I forgot to add).

Your Chipotle bowl sounds like mine when I go!!! Yum…I also make something similar at home sometimes. So delicious and filling! I can’t believe people have the Kahunas to say that to a stranger about what they eat.

I think she was inappropriately concerned about the fat in the sour cream, guac, and extra cheese. I guess in her nosy mind getting all three was supreme gluttony on my part.

Robin, just got to fix up a spelling error for you there
I hope that is ok?
Nosy Nellie was envious.

LOL I like that…gluttony to bravado!

Surprising that she felt so moved to comment on a stranger (you) going about her own business and living her life. And with incorrect information too.

I never know what’s going through people’s heads as they do something like that. I guess they think they are “helping?”
